The Past Blends Into  The Present
It's hard sometimes to tell where the demarcation line falls between past and present in the Pointes. Change is gradual. Fast food franchises, night spots, and 24-hour supermarkets are not a way of life here.

Instead, we have local merchants, big trees, gracious older homes,  sidewalks for strolling, waterfront parks.

On Lake St. Clair, large freighters, many of them ocean-going, are a common site for Grosse Pointers.

Highly competitive weekend regattas are a popular activity.

Major water means major boats. Hundreds from all over the country  participate in such events as the annual Mackinac race.

The Grosse Pointes are beautiful at any time of the year.
